Heroes – Our Life-Long Role Models

Heroes are the people that we aspire to be,
Whether you want to be a scientist, an author or just sing in glee.
There’s always someone who’s done something great,
No matter if it’s someone famous that you can never meet or simply just your mate!

We always have a famous person that we look up to,
The motivation we use to push us to prepare for what we want to do.
They are popular, and normally have the career of some sort, whatever you want to be,
And it is only their greatness, not the inside, and their personality that you can see.

But then you can have a small hero, and this really isn’t bad,
It could be your grandparents, or even your mum or dad.
They are loving and caring, and you know them inside out,
You know that they are a true inspiration without a doubt!

Everyone has a different hero, and some even have more than one,
And they are mainly for the things they have done.
You love what you have seen about them and what they do,
But you will always be inspired by the people who are closest and dearest to you…

A time and season for everything

When you came into this ageing world,
With a cry and with wonder, Giving joy to those around you
Let’s take a step back, while you pruned and matured
Within the casing in which you were delivered
With the warmth, life and smiles to those on the outside
I was there.

Coming back a few years after,
When you first crawled, no longer still and motionless,
With laughter sounding all around,
I was there.

Now, you took your first steps,
Said your first words, ate your first meal that wasn’t milk,
Progressing with such grace and speed,
Marvelously embracing the change in this world,
I was there.

Then you went to school with the excitement of your first day,
You met new people just like you, you made new friends,
Then others came along just the way you did, your brothers and sisters,
You were happy, having to look after them with joy,
I was there.

Then you joined the group of teenagers,
You rebelled sometimes, you cried sometimes
Yet you still loved me in your heart,
Showing those around you what it’s like to know me,
I was there.

Now you’re a young adult,
Facing troubles, you never saw coming, but don’t make haste: Stop and think,
Look all around you, look into the past,
Tell me what you see. Don’t you see my goodness in the land of the living?
Do not despair because:
I am with you.

Identity – Exodus

My child, the youngest of my petals,
your scent rising above the fences,
the sound bouncing off shiny metals,
When will you come to your senses?

You say, you’ve found your way,
pacing to and fro come what may,
our light shines forth
but not as bright as it ought…

My child, what do you search for?
the scent rising higher day by day!
our meadow is the best ashore,
but your heart is gone astray…

You say you’re fine by yourself,
guaranteed all that you want
you no longer seek help
your image, you flaunt…

My child, soft as silk,
smooth as a baby’s skin,
your meal still as milk,
causes you to raise your chin…

I say, you’re lost and you know it!
racing higher but you don’t fit
purpose: you forgot the meaning.
get back to the ways that are appealing.
